Halina McCormack has been a resident of Staten Island since 1980.  Born and educated in Poland, she earned her MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, with a major in Conservation of Painting and Polychromed Sculpture.  She is an art conservator in private practice and recently retired as the painting conservator at the Hispanic Society of America since 1988.  An active artist, she participated in shows at the World Trade Center, the National Arts Club, Art by the Ferry, and in her native Poland.  She is a member of the American Institute for Conservation.
