Photographer William E. Lyons works in his own darkroom using classical techniques and produces sliver gelatin prints.  He also works with digital imagery.  He moved to Staten Island in 2005 and was a staff photographer at the Staten Island Advance until moving to Tokyo, Japan in January of this year.  Lyons has exhibited his photographs for more than 30 years, has won many awards, and had solo exhibitions at the Butler Institute of American Art, the Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, Westminster College Art Gallery, and the Chester County Art Association.  He received the Gordon Parks Award and was selected as one of the 75 most influential artists in Chester County, Pennsylvania.  His work has appeared in many publications, notably National Geographic Historic Atlas of The United States, Best of Photojournalism, and Sunrust Magazine.  In spring 2013 he staged a solo exhibition at Curatorium EB Fine Art gallery in Hudson, New York, and his work was included in the Butler Institute of American Art National Mid-year Exhibition in Youngstown, Ohio.  Lyons has also been a guest artist at CPG Gallery with Chasing Shadow into the Light in 2015.
