Minnie Ettlinger (1919-2006) began her painting career after her children were grown.  She studied with Courtenay Milnes and attended the Art Students League.  She studied with the prominent watercolorists of the day, including Mario Cooper, Frank Webb, and Carlton Plummer and, by 1978, she was showing her work at Mauro Graphics on Staten Island.  Her still lifes and scenes of Staten Island landmarks quickly gained popularity.  Ettlinger’s watercolors are in corporate and private collections, and were included in prestigious national shows.  In 1981, she won the Knickerbocker Artists of America Award for Watercolor.
