Historian Patricia Salmon will be returning to the museum to present her lecture and slide show presentation, "The Irish on Staten Island." During this lively talk, you will look at fascinating facts and analysis on the Irish-American residents of Staten Island, including scholars, journalists, educators, politicians, rebels, rioters and others. Important events in Irish and Irish-American history that relate to Staten Island, including Irish immigration, the nineteenth century Quarantine Stations, the Draft Riots of 1863, and more will also be discussed.
Also featured will be Dawn Daniels' Irish step dancers as well as Linda Hickman and Doug Barr who will be performing traditional Irish music. A grand time will be had by all!
