Charles Turzak (1899-1986) was an American printmaker, painter, and graphic artist. Turzak received his art education at the Art Institute of Chicago and continued his studies abroad. He won wide recognition as an artist, author, and illustrator through his woodcut biographies of Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin. Turzak’s work is in the collections of institutions throughout the world, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the British Museum.
