Bill Higgins is a largely self-taught fine-art, commercial, and medical photographer.  Higgins graduated from Richmond College in 1976.  He has exhibited his work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of the City of New York, and the Staten Island Museum, where he received the Weissglass Purchase Prize.  His medical photographs have been published in foreign and domestic medical journals, and he received the University Hospice Award.  He grew up on a houseboat moored in the Fresh Kills, and his work often has a maritime theme.  Higgins took photographs of John A. Noble three weeks before he died during his last interview with the museum’s founder, Erin Urban.  billhigginsphotography.com
