Minnie Ettlinger (1919-2006) began her painting career after her children were grown.  She studied with Courtenay Milnes and attended the Art Students League. There she took classes with prominent watercolorists of the day, including Mario Cooper, Frank Webb, and Carlton Plummer and by 1978, she was showing her work at Mauro Graphics, Staten Island.  Her still lifes and scenes of Staten Island landmarks quickly gained popularity. Ettlinger’s watercolors are in corporate and private collections and were included in prestigious national shows. In 1981 she won the Knickerbocker Artists of America Award for Watercolor.
