James W. McCormack (1938-2011) graduated from Columbia University School of Architecture. He studied painting and drawing at the Art Students League of New York with prominent Abstract Expressionist Teodoros Stamos, the Brooklyn Museum Art School, the Art Students League in Woodstock, and later on, at the Art Lab in Snug Harbor, Staten Island. For 50 years he worked for major architecture firms in New York and New Jersey. He designed visionary private residences in Montauk, NY and Staten Island. As a visual artist he was active and exhibited his work at the World Trade Center, the National Arts Club, the McCormack Gallery, COAHSI, St. John's University, and Gallery E.T.C.
