Denise Mumm has been a Staten Island resident for 30 years. A native of Iowa, she received both the BFA in painting and the MA in metalworking and jewelry from the University of Iowa. She was one of the founders of COAHSI. Mumm has exhibited in group shows nationally since the 1970’s. Her work can be seen on Staten Island in the museum’s Titanic exhibit and in the Staten Island Museum’s 2012 Juried Exhibition. An avid tango dancer, her work, mostly in collage, has taken on a tango theme in the last few years. In addition to exhibiting in Staten Island, she has shown this work at tango venues in Manhattan. She also has an online Etsy store.
